American Tobacco Trail (ATT)
A 22-mile long trail that runs the length of an abandoned railroad bed originally built for the American Tobacco Company. Now part of the East Coast Greenway, the ATT crosses through the City of Durham, Durham County, Chatham County and Wake County.

Catsburg Store
Catsburg Store is located at the junction of Old Oxford Highway and Hamlin Road in Durham County, North Carolina. The Catsburg Store is about halfway between Durham and Butner, and is near historic Stagville.
Though no longer open for business, the Catsburg Store is now widely recognized as a local landmark. Its renown comes from the large painted image of a black cat that has led to the building becoming a favorite of local photographers and artists.

Sarah P. Duke Gardens
Approximately 55 acres of landscaped and wooded areas at Duke University; the gardens are a memorial to Sarah P. Duke, wife of Benjamin N. Duke, one of Duke University’s benefactors

Historic Stagville Plantation
Part of one of the largest plantation complexes in the American South, comprised of roughly 30,000 acres and former “home” to nearly 900 slaves; Stagville’s historic housing include several former slave residences known as “Horton Grove”

A regional shopping mall located just off I-40 and Fayetteville Road

West Point Mill
A historic watermill on the Eno River just north of Durham. This 388-acre park is located along a two-mile stretch of the scenic Eno River, six miles north of downtown Durham. You can enjoy a leisurely picnic and stroll around the grounds, or take a hike through the woods on one of the park trails.
